Pilates from my heart!

Hello everyone and welcome to my first blog post.

Starting my new website has been a long journey for me, but I couldn’t have achieved it without the help of great and loving people around me.

I would like to give thanks to my loving husband John and my two daughters Maria and Yianna for all their patience and support in my 18 year Pilates and Myotherapy journey to date.

Tim has been a great help for my first website for many years now, and it hurts to say goodbye to him.

Over the years I have had the pleasure to work with great people in my practice who have also supported me in my business with photography and promotion.

Thank you, Paul, Humphrey, Amy, Tasha, Jo, Corina, Jannette, Melanie and all my clients who have supported and believed in me in my journey.

Thank you to Jarrad from Pippos Technology Solutions for all his patience in working with me the past year in developing the new outlook of my site and to Zac for the new photography!

"Every moment of our life can be the beginning of great things."

With this quote in mind and my faith in my work, I seek to educate myself endlessly in delivering the best Pilates and Myotherapy practice I possibly can, in the Riverland.

From my little home studio back in 2005 to the rooms next to the Renmark surgery clinic in 2008 and to my current studio on James Ave since 2010, what an amazing journey it has been.

I have evolved as a practitioner and person over the years and have found that my hobby became a passion, that has lead me back to University to explore Exercise Physiology in depth.

Why Pilates?

I LOVE IT. Pilates gives me sanity – time to look within and teach movement that has meaning, grace and beauty.

Why Pilates for you?

– Pilates for improvement of muscle endurance, flexibility, balance and posture.

“12-week Pilates exercise program was capable of producing statistically significant increases in abdominal endurance, hamstring flexibility, and upper-body muscular endurance in active middle-aged men and women. Multiple benefits from regular practice of Pilates exercises were demonstrated, and this study provides the foundation for follow-up studies to look at the advantages of Pilates exercise in more specific populations. Specific groups that may benefit from more study include those interested in Pilates as a way to improve overall sport or athletic performance, those with low back pain and spinal structural problems, and individuals with urinary incontinence”

(JUNE A. KLOUBEC, Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research 2010)

– Pilates demonstrates an emphasis on the body psychotherapeutic practice.

A greater appreciation for how mind-body integration could lead to significant changes in how medicine and psychology, attempt to heal people.

"Whatever your reasons are, the pilates exercise method is there to help you!"
